Russel Brown | return

rbRussell has been a creative force at Adobe for the past 18 years, but his influence on Photoshop’s development started right at the beginning. It was Russell’s budding relationship with Thomas and John Knoll, the program’s original developers, that helped shape the future of both Photoshop and Adobe itself.

Russell was a key contributor to the launch and features development of Photoshop 1.0, which is evidenced by his inclusion on Photoshop 1.0’s Splash Screen, which lists only four names: Thomas and John Knoll, Steve Guttman and his. But more than just helping with its initial development, Russell was also instrumental in the software’s growing popularity, showcasing Photoshop’s abilities at events ranging from the Mac Summit to NBC’s Today show. It was Russell’s overwhelming passion and limitless enthusiasm for Photoshop that aided in its widespread acceptance.

Russell has been around the world to evangelize the use of Adobe’s products and has mesmerized audiences at conferences and tradeshows worldwide. His creative lecture style has won him and Photoshop a loyal legion of fans, as he incorporates entertainment and fun into his sessions and he has been featured at such events as Macworld, Seybold, AIGA Design, PhotoshopWorld, and the MdN conferences in Japan.

Although Photoshop continues to evolve, the heart of Russell’s message stays the same, as he shows us how to enjoy working and playing with Adobe Photoshop. Today, as resident Photoshop creative expert and evangelist, Russell shares his message of digital design mastery with the world’s leading photographers, publishers, art directors, and digital artists.
