Mike Shaw | Senior Quality Engineer, Adobe Photoshop.

Mike was with Adobe for nearly 30 years, where he helped create and test many of the most used and most beloved features in Photoshop. Mike is probably most noted for working with Jerry Harris to implement the current painting engine and stylus support in Photoshop. Most recently, Mike was using his talents to help bring Photoshop to mobile surfaces, including the iPad as well as the iPhone.  Mike’s high standard for quality was apparent in everything he touched. He used his talents to battle test Photoshop and advocate for features and functionality needed by the most demanding professional creatives.

Mike was a talented artist and painter in his own right and is credited with designing the most Beta splash screens for Photoshop over the years.

Sadly, Mike passed away on March 19, 2025. Those who knew and worked with Mike appreciated his quiet demeanor, dry and dark wit, and love of art and nature. Mike will be dearly missed by his colleagues at Adobe and around the industry.
